Testimonials

My students love it! It really challenges them to master the concepts. I told one of my students to change to another topic so she could practice for the upcoming tests, and she said, 'No, wait! I want to get to 100% first!' I have never seen her more motivated to succeed!

JaLene Rosengren, 4th and 5th grade teacher, Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, U.S.A.

The entire site is amazing. I love the fact that as a teacher you are able to create accounts for your students, track their progress, and view a rich assortment of reports showing you just how much they are improving. Also, the interactive style and scoring method for the students are great.

Althea Carter, Lithonia, Georgia, U.S.A.

I stumbled upon IXL one day when I was looking for something for math... it was the best stumble I had all year!!

2nd grade teacher, South Dakota, U.S.A.

I currently teach first grade in an inner city school and am a former technology coordinator. Our current technology coordinator sent me your site, and I loved it. The lessons were set up well, the screens were motivating and fast moving, and the topics match the standards. Last year each of our first grade students had a $27 consumable math book. Your site would cost a lot less.

Lori Sanders, 1st grade teacher, Allentown, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.

My children are loving it and I have also received great comments from parents. In class, they are begging to get on your site!!!

Jennifer Smith, 3rd grade teacher, Olive Branch, Mississippi, U.S.A.

The kids love it. I had one third grader say last year that it made our state-mandated tests a lot easier. I use different sites on the internet all the time but this is the best site I've ever used. IT'S GREAT!!!

Teacher, South Dakota, U.S.A.

Thanks to IXL, our students' performance has increased dramatically. Because they practice the skills daily, and because the site provides feedback, students are able to correct their mistakes and master the concepts easily.

Waleska Batista, teacher, Cherry Hill, New Jersey, U.S.A.

Students are telling me they really love practicing this way because they get problems at their level and get instant info when their answers are wrong. They have dramatically increased their independent practice in math over the traditional daily math book we currently use.

Jenny Shotts, teacher, Portland, Oregon, U.S.A.

I like the breakdown of specific skills that correlate with grade level, I like the easy user interface, and I really like the correct explanations with illustrations for the answers to each question. Students and teachers love the ease of use, the reports, and awards. Thank you so much for creating an amazing math website.

Sandy Rosenbaum, K-8 educational technology coordinator, Bethesda, Maryland, U.S.A.

I am very impressed! The students have been logging a great deal of practice time and are excitedly talking about their medals and prizes. Thank you for a wonderful learning tool!

5th grade teacher, New Jersey, U.S.A.

I have just started using IXL, and it is very user friendly! I really like how I can easily see who missed what question and what their responses were. I was surprised to also receive e-mails with printable certificates. These will be a great motivational tool for our class. I'll be printing those out at school tomorrow and hanging them up in the classroom!

5th grade teacher, Ohio, U.S.A.

The students in my class love math. They are constantly on the computers doing math. This is a real switch from before. Not only is this a wonderful program for my students, but it has even made teaching math fun for me!

5th grade teacher, California, U.S.A.

Considering the amount of content we have to cover in a year, we have very little time to get in adequate practice before moving on. IXL has solved that problem. It has also allowed us a VERY easy way to go back and review skills throughout the year we have already covered. For our lower achieving students, sending them back one or two levels has helped improve weaknesses and build confidence.

Sandye Kabalen, 6th grade math teacher, Richmond, Kentucky, U.S.A.

I love the way IXL scores students based on achievement through each subskill. It's a great tool for students to practice and reinforce specific skills that have been taught in the classroom. It's a very well-designed service.

Jerry Klebba, special education teacher, grades 3-5, Bangor, Michigan, U.S.A.

My teacher told my class about IXL. It is really fun and it gives lots of math help and practice. I like that when I click on 4th grade, it has everything we are doing in my class. My favorite thing is that it gives awards when I practice.

4th grade student, Potomac, Maryland, U.S.A

WOW! There are so many great features. I love the individual tracking of students. What a great way to easily collect and transfer data! Keep up the great work!

Colleen Jones, 1st and 2nd grade teacher, Blossvale, New York, U.S.A.

I am a retired teacher who is tutoring a young boy with special needs, and your program is going to be really good for him. I can teach him a new concept using manipulatives and assign one of your lessons to reinforce it. Best of all, his mother and I can both track his progress. This is the right program for the times. You'll do a lot of good and many children will benefit. I wish you great success.

Special needs tutor, Canada

I have 5 students who work on IXL on a regular and frequent basis, and their achievement has shot up tremendously. I recommend your program to everyone!

Beverly Hartman, kindergarten teacher, Concord, North Carolina, U.S.A.

I was looking for math websites online when I came across IXL. My dad signed me up and now my grades are going up.

4th grade student, Ohio, U.S.A.

My students have really enjoyed the IXL experience. They are excited about going on your website every day.

5th grade teacher, Hutchinson, Kansas, U.S.A.

I am a 11 year old student in fifth grade and I absolutely love this website. My teacher told us for homework we had to go to www.ixl.com and she gave us our password and username and I was like great more “boring” homework and when I got home and played I was on this website for about an hour it is so amazing. I love how you guys used awards to make the kids want to keep answering questions and after the 2nd quarter I saw my report card and it went from a 90 to a 100 all because of your site.

5th grade student, New York, U.S.A.

I just absolutely LOVE this website! I feel like I'm getting smarter by the minute!

4th grade student, Ross, California, U.S.A.

When I saw my report card and how much I improved I am happy for IXL being by my side.

3rd grade student, Exton, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.

The school where I teach is one of the highest performing schools in our district. This being said we still have issues with many of our students' performance on state tests. I found IXL while working on a Master's degree in Technology. I experimented with the website on my own and then did a free trial for my students in my classroom. Needless to say I ended up purchasing a membership because the kids were crazy about IXL. I think this website should be used in every school. Thank you for producing such a great resource for teachers and kids!

3rd grade teacher, New Mexico, U.S.A.

IXL is a wonderful program, and it is well worth its subscription fee. My students are enjoying it, and I am finding the information the program gives me to be useful. Thank you for developing such a great product.

Kerry Broadhurst, 4th grade teacher, Albany, Oregon, U.S.A.

I LOVE the skill proficiency reports. Often I will give my students an “assignment” by telling them what skill I would like for them to practice when it is their turn on the computer. At the end of the day, I can check the skill report to see who has mastered that skill, how much time it took them to master it, and how many questions they answered. Instant feedback and I didn't have to grade a single paper... awesome!

Kristin Falcon, 3rd grade teacher, Spring, Texas, U.S.A.

First of all, I love your website. It is amazing to see how much more improvement my students are able to make when they can see if their answers are right or wrong instantly instead of waiting for me to check their work and getting it back to them the next day. Not to mention the countless hours of grading that I no longer have to do, and many thousands of paper copies that are no longer needed... all wonderful!! (IXL actually SAVES our district money as our math-related copy costs have decreased by more than what your site costs per year.) I am convinced that your site is the future of math education.

3rd grade teacher, Michigan, U.S.A.

I am amazed at the comments from parents concerning how well their children are responding to the website. Mind you these are three year old children. The mom of the youngest three-year-old stated that the first thing her child wants to do after being at preschool for 7 hours is to come home and do her math on the computer. The mother was elated. I am so thankful to have found this site.

Latrece Johnson, preschool teacher, Mobile, Alabama, U.S.A.

As an instructor, I find the teacher tools very helpful, as it makes it easier for me to see how each student is doing and I can compare students to one another on a variety of levels. It makes it quick and simple to gauge how the program is working, which students need more help, etc. As far as the student side, I love that after wrong answers, the problems are explained and the correct answer is given. It helps my students learn from their mistakes.

Volunteer tutor working with low-income children, Tampa, Florida, U.S.A.

I love the reports. The details that are provided are terrific. Being able to see how long they took on each problem in addition to being able to see their actual answers is really valuable.

Special education teacher, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, U.S.A.

I think everyone should go on IXL. My parents are proud of me for thinking of going here. My grades are high because of this.

4th grade student, Belleville, New Jersey, U.S.A.

I was really bad in maths and now... I am so good my grades for maths tests have gone up! That's from 60's to 90's percent!

12-year-old student, Nairobi, Kenya

I can tell you my class LOVES this site! Whenever our teacher says all right everyone! After you're done, you can go to IXL.com everyone says YES! And yes, our teacher says we are starting to get to know the things she has us work on on here a lot better! Wow. Your site is awesome and I am glad our teacher told us about it.

6th grade student, Hutchinson, Kansas, U.S.A.

I am a teacher with various grades in one classroom (3-5). What I love about your website is that it is kid friendly and has reports for the teacher to closely monitor what the students actually does during his/her time on the computer. It allows practice on numerous skills which is an advantage for upcoming state assessment.

Shirley S. Brill, teacher, Jacksonville, Florida, U.S.A.

I have only used it in my classes for about a week so far, but the students are asking for it, and I have seen some students show measurable improvement already and a markedly improved interest in learning.

Reading specialist and ELL teacher, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, U.S.A.

I like that you continue to add grades and features for teachers. I can't think of something specific that I would need that isn't already there.

Special education teacher, Minnesota, U.S.A.

This site is a wonderful resource and has everything to supplement my first grade math curriculum.

Cindy O'Shaughnessy, 1st grade teacher, Cedar Park, Texas, U.S.A.

I love IXL. Don't change a thing. My class uses it all the time. And it really helps extremely.

5th grade student, Salem, Oregon, U.S.A.

I am totally excited by what this site has brought about for my students. They leave the computer lab and ask when we are going to go back and work on math again. Some of the students are so excited about the program that they ask if they can work on it during recess time! That is amazing.

Jenna Wilk, 5th and 6th grade teacher, Rogers City, Michigan, U.S.A.

When I go to school and my teacher asks me a question when we are doing math or multiplication like what 11x5=, I would say 11x5=55 because that's what I learned here at ixl.com. Thank you.

3rd grade student, Clifton, New Jersey, U.S.A.

Every thing about ixl is so perfect!

Grade 5 student, St. Catherine, Jamaica

You're going to love this - I asked the kids what they thought of IXL now that they have been working on it for a few weeks. They all love it - every single student, and I have multi-grade classes. One lad said, It's so cool that we get to play IXL so much 'cause it isn't school. It is motivating the students and they are learning far better than if they just stuck to the textbooks. They are also able to cover more skills this way - more efficient way of delivering ideas.

Teacher, Quebec, Canada

Thank you for creating a math site that is so ideal!

Erica Medard, 2nd grade teacher, Evanston, Indiana, U.S.A.

The kids love the Awards page, and it is a huge motivator. The reports are easy to use and target exactly what I want to know. The explanation button on the activities is terrific and really helps the kids when they get the wrong answers.

Fred Collins, teacher and technology specialist, Everett, Washington, U.S.A.

We love the feature where the teacher can view all of the problems that a student missed. We also love the graphic display of the problems and answers, and the ease of use. It is great for our students. It has been easy for our teachers and students to use this product with very little training.

Technology assistant at an elementary school, Illinois, U.S.A.

Love it! My students and my own children can't wait to get on the computer, and I then have a hard time stopping them from using the site!

Special education teacher, Elmhurst, Illinois, U.S.A.

IXL has been a very inspiring and enriching program for our students. This program really helped (and continues to help) improve students' skills and confidence.

Teacher, Fayetteville, North Carolina, U.S.A.

It has improved students' skills immensely.

Lois Loft, teacher, Bartlett, Tennessee, U.S.A.

I am a girl in grade 9th and I love your site. It really helped my brother and me a lot especially in math. Thanks a lot. You can help kids a lot.

Student, East Brunswick, New Jersey, U.S.A.

Great job on the development of this site. I can tell that it was done with students and teachers in mind.

2nd grade teacher, Orangeburg, South Carolina, U.S.A.

I just love it. I think the students feel like they're playing and I know that they are learning. I love how the point system works. I also love the immediate feedback because they can see what they did wrong right at the moment instead of a day or two later.

6th grade teacher, West Haven, Utah, U.S.A.

I am a 5th grade student and I think IXL is awesome. I am so advanced now because of whoever created this website. I want you to know that you are providing many kids around the world a second chance at learning math concepts to be the best they can be.

Student, Williamstown, Massachusetts, U.S.A.

I was searching for some subtraction drills and IXL came up. Very lucky! ... I've rarely seen kids so intensely interested in what they are learning about.

Barry Stewart, grade 3-4 math teacher, Hope, British Columbia, Canada

The different ways questions are asked ensures that students truly understand a certain skill.

Elizabeth McLemore, teacher, Rome, Georgia, U.S.A.

Your math program is great! I have finally found a program that corresponds with our state standards. My special needs students are able to practice and review skills they have not mastered from a wide range of grade levels. The progress reports are extremely helpful with my record keeping and assessments.

Janet Robinson, teacher, Cerro Gordo, North Carolina, U.S.A.

Now, instead of giving homework, I assign IXL practice for 15-20 minutes a night. Students get points for time spent practicing, how many medals attained, and improvement in scores. My unmotivated students beg to use the computers. I set a goal for an hour a week, but all surpass it.

High school special education teacher, Ansonia, Connecticut, U.S.A.

I love ixl.com and my students don't seem to tire of it - even using it most days and assigning as homework.

Teacher, Lake Elmo, Minnesota, U.S.A.

I work with students from three schools and six grades. Obviously I can't be everywhere at once. I LOVE how I can teach a strand and then have the kids practice on-line with a report being e-mailed to me.

Teacher of accelerated students, Waynesboro, Virginia, U.S.A.

I love this site! As a Pre-K teacher, I am always looking to see where I need to be going and what are other states doing so I can prepare my kids even more. I teach at risk 4 year olds under a grant program affiliated with the school district. This is a valuable site for teachers and parents.

Pre-K teacher, Charlotte, North Carolina, U.S.A.

Students absolutely love going on IXL! I find that when they get an answer wrong, they actually do read the explanation!

Teacher of 5th, 6th, and 7th grade math, Weston, Florida, U.S.A.

I am teacher of a self contained Intellectual Disabilities and Physically Impaired classroom at the middle school level. Students in my room are academically functioning on about a 1st to 3rd grade level. IXL has been a great site for my students. I especially like the ability to have access to ALL grade levels, as the needs of my students vary widely.

Teacher, Pasco County, Florida, U.S.A.

I used IXL with a handicapped child with muscular dystrophy who cannot hold a pencil, and it was awesome! He is so behind in math because it was so hard to teach when you could not manipulate a pencil! He did great with IXL, though, using a keyboard on his monitor and typing with his mouse. It is very handicap accessible and I wish more people with handicapped children and students knew about your program!!!

Teacher, Louisiana, U.S.A.

I am a teacher of a class of Year 7 and 8 boys, and they LOVE IXL. They will choose to go and do it rather than have free time in the room, and are forever trying to beat each other's scores. They are going ahead in leaps and bounds and gaining wonderful confidence as they go.
